My name is Ellen Hinck, and this will be my first year teaching at Triton. I teach sixth and seventh grade Language Arts, and I’m looking forward to getting to know all my students and having a fun school year.
About Ms. Hinck
I was born and raised in Lake City, MN, but I now live in Rochester. I graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City and attended Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota for my undergraduate career. I received bachelor’s degrees in Literature with Writing Emphasis and Psychology. The following year, I returned to Saint Mary’s to complete a master’s degree in teaching for Communication Arts and Literature grades 5-12. While in grad school, I completed my clinical practicum at Willow Creek Middle School in Rochester, and I student-taught at John Marshall High School in Rochester.
During my free time, I enjoy going on adventures with my three dogs (Joplin, Arthur, and Lily) and spending time with family and friends. I also love movies, books, and a wide range of music.
My Purpose Statement
As a teacher, I want my students to connect to texts and feel inspired to share and debate their ideas with others and be able to connect their own experiences to literature. Most of all, I aim to create a learning environment that is filled with both laughter and inquiry.
