Welcome to my Website

About Ms. Totzke:
I am very glad to be a part of the Triton family and be involved in the community. Before starting my career here at Triton, I earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree and an English minor from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and an Educational Technology and Computing Certificate from the University of Minnesota. I love the energy and enthusiasm of this age group.

While I was in the Secondary Education program at UMD, I was placed with three different cooperating teachers at school districts in the Duluth area.  My first placement was with 9th and 10th grade students at Proctor High School in Proctor, MN, and my second placement was with 7th grade students at Marshall College Prep School in Duluth, MN.  My final semester, I was placed in an 8th grade English classroom at Superior Middle School in Superior, WI.  From all of these placements, I learned that students learn best when they are actively taking ownership of their education.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading a good book, watching a variety of TV shows and movies on Netflix, and trying new recipes to cook.

My Purpose Statement:
As an educator, I will continuously be supportive of my students and believe in their abilities, as a learner and whole person, as I strive to challenge them to achieve beyond their expected potential.

My goal as a teacher is to help your student find success and gain an understanding and appreciation of language, literature and communication and their importance to his/her life.
