Dodge Center, MN 5/30/23 - Pending board approval, the Triton Public Schools Activities Department is excited to announce the appointment of Beth Hammitt as the next head coach of the varsity girls basketball program. Hammitt has a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Elementary Education, and also holds a M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa. Additionally, Hammitt is completing her first school year at Triton High School, where she currently teaches middle school and high school math, and was an assistant coach for the boys basketball team this school year.
Triton High School Activities Director Corey Black stated, “When we began our selection process for our next head coach of the girl’s basketball program we sought a candidate who would be able to build and maintain strong relationships with our current student-athletes. Coach Hammitt has shown this every day at Triton through the connections she has made through her roles as math teacher, and basketball coach. I am excited to see Coach Hammitt work with our girl’s basketball program to build trust, and push for improvement together as a collective group.”
