On Saturday, October 14th Coach Shelly Bungum received her award for the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year. During her tenure at Triton Coach Bungum has coached numerous student-athletes, however the 2022 and 2023 track seasons were memorable as Coach Bungum worked with Owen Petersohn the State Champion in the 110m and 300m hurdles in 2022, as well as Pierce Petersohn and Hanna Strom who were State Entrants in the 2023 MSHSL Track and Field State Championships.
Coach Bungum has also restarted the Triton Cross Country program, and is an elementary physical education teacher at Triton Elementary School. Triton Public Schools is proud, and honored to have Coach Bungum as an educator, and would like to congratulate Shelly on her recent recognition! Congratulations Shelly!
